If your family believes Embark and its self-directed education model are a good match for your young person age 9-18, then let’s begin the application process. Our annual tuition is $13,500 for full-time membership and $9,650 for part-time (we pro-rate for members who join mid-year). We also offer a 10% sibling discount.

Talk with Andrea and/or Catina — they will answer your initial questions about Embark and find a time for an in-person chat. Feel free to be in touch even if you are not sure about Embark. If we are not the best fit, we can help direct you to educational options that better suit your family’s needs and goals.

  1. Find a time to visit — after the initial conversation, we’ll invite your child/teen to spend a day at Embark, offering a chance to meet the other members and staff and to get a sense of how Embark works.
  2. Fill out our application — if your family and young person feel that Embark is a good fit, the next step is to fill out our Member Application.
  3. Hear back (as needed) — If space is available and we feel Embark is a good fit, we will offer a membership spot. If Embark is currently full, your family can be added to our waiting list.

    Payment Plans & Tuition Assistance

Embark Center embraces an economically diverse community committed to the worth and values of self-directed education. We work with families of all financial situations and offer individualized payment plans and tuition assistance where appropriate. For families whose household income does not support paying the full tuition, Embark uses a Sliding Scale model to determine the membership fee — your tuition will be set based on your family’s income, expenses, and individual circumstances. This is established through a financial assistance application process administered by TADS, a third-party financial aid assessment company widely used throughout the education world. If you feel the need for an individualized payment option, we can discuss this after the initial admissions visit.
